4 Nightly Journal Prompts

 

You know I love to journal, it has seriously changed my life. I journal for 5 minutes each night and that’s really all it takes. Here are some journal prompts for you beginners who just don’t know where to start and what to write about. Set the timer each night for 5 minutes or 3 minutes, whatever works best for you and get started.

  1. Write about your day. The good, the bad and the ugly. Be completely honest. There’s the kicker. This is not the time for you to work on spelling and handwriting and what you should be saying. Skip all that because that is not what we are doing here. Seriously get vulnerable with yourself.
  2. Gratitude. What are you grateful for? As you start this section, I know you will find so much to be grateful for.
  3. What do you hope for? This is such a good prompt because it gets your creative juices flowing. Again, not what you are supposed to want. You may hope for world peace, but unless that is the only thing you are hoping for, write more than that. Talk about YOUR hopes and dreams, let your mind create.
  4. Forgiveness and yucky feelings. If you have any lingering yucky feelings toward yourself and/or others, write those down. Again, feel free to brutal here the best way to get rid of these feelings is to keep it real.

Set your timer and don’t stop until the timer stops. Let things flow naturally, even if crazy things flow out. At a certain point, your subconscious will take over and that will be your sweet spot. You got this. Happy journaling!
